Event Insurance covers problems such as cancellation of your venue, damage to hired equipment and injury to guests.
The cost of Event Insurance will depend on the size of your event so it’s important that you buy a policy that suits the event you're holding.
You are eligible to take out the insurance policy if you have a financial interest in the event, such as if you are the organiser or the person paying the main cost of the event. You must be over 18 years old.
We suggest that you take it out as soon as you've paid for any part of the event, so that your deposits are covered. Event Insurance from John Lewis Finance can be taken out up to one year before the event date.
Yes, with Event Insurance from John Lewis Finance, hired equipment and venue you've already booked or paid for will be covered. However, you can't take out a policy if you're already aware of a reason to claim.
If the weather prevents you or more than 50% of your guests getting to the venue, then you'll be covered. You should call the Claims Hotline to check before cancelling - 0330 102 2759.
Event Insurance from John Lewis Finance covers if the venue is unable to hold the event for an insured reason.
Each section of cover applies for different lengths of time and has conditions and exclusions applying to it - see the policy wording for full details.
You will need to pay an excess of £50 on all claims except Legal Expenses which do not have an excess.
You have up to 14 days after receiving your policy documents to change your mind and get a full refund, as long as you haven’t already made a claim and the event hasn’t taken place.
After that, you can cancel at any time before your event date by calling 0330 102 2747. Please note, if you cancel after 14 days, you won’t be entitled to a refund. To change or upgrade your cover, just give us a call on 0330 102 2747.
