General rewards & points rules

1. Introduction

When your application for a Partnership Credit Card is accepted, you will automatically be enrolled in the Partnership Credit Card Reward Programme which is operated by John Lewis plc. This Programme will enable you to earn and redeem Points in accordance with these rules (the “Rules”). All terms used in these Rules are defined in Rule 15.


2. Eligible Purchases

You will earn Points at the rates described in Table 1 when using your Partnership Credit Card (including transactions made with a Partnership Credit Card provisioned on Apple Pay or Google PayTM) on Eligible Purchases:

a) Partnership Spend: at John Lewis Shops, johnlewis.com, John Lewis Foreign Currency, John Lewis Insurance, John Lewis Opticians, John Lewis Food Halls, Waitrose stores, Waitrose.com, Waitrose Welcome Breaks, waitroseentertaining.com, waitrosecellar.com, waitrosegarden.com, and Kuoni (in John Lewis stores and Kuoni branded stores);

b) Non-Partnership Spend: Spend at all other retailers and at John Lewis and Waitrose shop concessions, including but not limited to John Lewis Beauty Services, Joe & the Juice, Benugo Cafe, Clarins Spa, KuPP, Vodafone shop, Nespresso Boutiques, Lloyds Pharmacy, Boots Pharmacy, Johns & Kelyneck Pharmacy, Admiral Pharmacy, Hove Pharmacy, Post Office, Johnson Cleaners, Costa Coffee, Arnolds Estate Agents and PhotoMe booths, Leckford Farm Shop, Longstock Park Nursery, Waitrose at Shell Petrol stations and Kuoni holidays booked via non Kuoni stores via another travel agent, transactions made using another payment service that are later debited to your Partnership Credit Card (for example, PayPal and Curve card transactions made at John Lewis or Waitrose);

c) Foreign Spend: Partnership Spend or Non-Partnership Spend made outside the United Kingdom.


3. Earning Points

a) You will earn Points on each Eligible Purchase from the date that eligible spend is posted to your Account. The Points you earn will be reduced by the amount of any Eligible Purchases that are refunded to your Account or returned by you.

b) You will not earn Points for balance transfers, cash advances or cash related payments (which include but are not limited to cash withdrawals, payments to financial organisations e.g. repaying borrowing such as personal loans, buy now pay later providers like ClearPay and Klarna, buying lottery tickets, purchasing foreign currency (except John Lewis Foreign Currency) and for any money transfer services (like Wise, Remitly), interest and charges).

c) Except as otherwise set out in Table 1, any fractions of a Point are rounded down to the nearest whole number.

d) Points that you earn will be redeemed under these Rules but have no other monetary value.

e) Points are calculated on eligible purchases once the transaction has been cleared on your account. This is usually a few days after you make the transaction.

f) Points are added once your transaction has been cleared on a regular basis. Any additional points accumulated during your August Variation will be added the following month for each August Variation period.

g) We may change the basis on which Points are earned by giving you reasonable notice as provided for under these Rules.

h) August Variation: For the dates specified in Table 1, you will be able to earn points for your Eligible Purchases from 1 August - 31 August of the year in John Lewis stores and the John Lewis website.


4. Points earning limits

The maximum number of Points that you can earn in any calendar year is 100,000 Points. If this limit is exceeded in any calendar year, you will not be able to earn further Points on Eligible Purchases until after the beginning of the next calendar year.


5. Redeeming Points

a) You do not have to take any action to redeem Points. John Lewis plc will redeem Points automatically at the rate of £1 of vouchers for 100 Points.

b) John Lewis plc will redeem Points three times a year in February, June and October when John Lewis plc will send you vouchers for the Points held at that time. You will receive vouchers during these months when your monthly Partnership Credit Card statement indicates that Points are being redeemed. If you do not receive vouchers by the end of the subsequent month, please contact John Lewis Credit Card Customer Services. John Lewis plc will only accept claims for non-delivery of vouchers for up to six months after the end of the month during which they were sent out by us.

c) The minimum redemption will be 500 Points, giving a voucher of £5. Points will be redeemed for vouchers in multiples of £5. Any Points that have not been redeemed will be carried forward to the next redemption period.

d) Points that have been held in your Account for 2 years will expire and cannot be redeemed.

e) John Lewis plc may change the basis on which Points are redeemed, the months in which Points are redeemed, and the frequency of redemption by giving you reasonable notice.


6. Vouchers

a) Your vouchers can only be used to make purchases of goods or services at John Lewis shops, johnlewis.com, Waitrose shops and waitrose.com. John Lewis plc will advise you if you are able to use your vouchers in any other locations.

b) The use of vouchers may be subject to restrictions that John Lewis plc will advise you of when your vouchers are sent to you.

c) If the goods purchased in Waitrose & Partners and John Lewis & Partners shops total less than the value of the gift voucher, the change will be put onto a gift card.

d) Vouchers may not be exchanged directly for cash.


7. When Points will not be earned or redeemed

If:

a) you are in breach of the terms of the Credit Card Agreement,

b) your Partnership Credit Card has been cancelled or suspended,

c) a renewal of your Partnership Credit Card has been refused, or

d) you are suspected of fraud,

you will not earn Points and you can not redeem any Points while any of these circumstances continue.


8. Statements

The monthly Partnership Credit Card statement will show details of the Points you hold and the Points you have earned and the Points that have been redeemed during the previous month.

10. Termination

a) If your Account is closed for any reason, all Points earned but not redeemed at the date of closure will be forfeited. All vouchers that have already been issued to you will remain valid.

b) We reserve the right to terminate the Programme by giving you reasonable notice. If we do this all Points will be redeemed under these Rules at the date of closure and all vouchers that have already been issued to you will remain valid.


11. Transfer of Points

Points may not be transferred or sold.


12. Tax liability

You or your advisers are responsible for determining any tax liability in respect of your participation in the Programme and the earning and redeeming of Points and we are not able to give you advice concerning this.


13. Changes to the programme

In addition to the specific changes referred to in these Rules, we may change the Programme or the Rules by giving you reasonable notice.


14. Notices

Any notice we may give you under these Rules may be given in writing via:

  • email to your registered email address; or

  • by post to your registered postal address; or

  • by publishing any changes via johnlewismoney.com website.



15. Definitions

In these Rules:
“Account” means the Partnership Credit Card account maintained in your name under the Credit Card Agreement with the credit card issuer;
“Credit Card Agreement” means the consumer credit agreement made between you and the credit card issuer for the Partnership Credit Card;
“Eligible Purchases” has the meaning provided in Clause 2;
“John Lewis Insurance” means general insurance from John Lewis Money;
“John Lewis” means the John Lewis Partnership or its subsidiaries including John Lewis plc, and other members of the group from time to time;
“Partnership Credit Card” and “Partnership Card” mean the Partnership Credit Card issued to you by the credit card issuer under the Credit Card Agreement;
“Points” means the points earned and redeemed under the Programme;
“Programme” means the Partnership Credit Card Reward Programme, the terms of which are set out in these Rules;
“Waitrose” means Waitrose Limited;
“We”, “we” or “us” means John Lewis plc; and
“You” or “you” means you, the person in whose name we maintain the Account.

Offers

New Customer Double Points for accounts opened from 2 June 2025

1. These Offer Terms and Conditions (the “Offer Terms”) are an agreement between you and us and apply to any application you make for a Partnership Credit Card (the “Card”). They apply in addition to, and should be read together with, the Partnership Credit Card Terms & Conditions and Reward Programme Rules. In the event of any conflict, these Offer Terms will apply.

2. In these Offer Terms, “we” or “us” means John Lewis plc, 1 Drummond Gate, Pimlico, London SW1V 2QQ.

3. The Offer may be withdrawn at any time without notice. Any applications received after we have withdrawn the Offer will not qualify for the Offer.

4. To be eligible for the Offer you must:

a) apply (either in store or online) for and open a Partnership Credit Card, and

b) use your Partnership Credit Card for at least one Partnership Spend Eligible Purchase (this means spend at John Lewis Shops, johnlewis.com, John Lewis Foreign Currency, John Lewis Insurance, John Lewis Opticians, John Lewis Food Halls, Waitrose stores, Waitrose.com, Waitrose Welcome Breaks, waitroseentertaining.com, waitrosecellar.com, waitrosegarden.com, and Kuoni (in John Lewis stores and Kuoni branded stores) within 60 days of opening your account.

5. If you meet the other requirements set out in these Offer Terms, you will be eligible for Double Points (as defined in clause 7 below) on Partnership Spend Eligible Purchases (as defined in clause 4(b)) for a period of 60 days from the date you open your Partnership Credit Card account (together, the “Offer”), subject to clause 9.

6. Acceptance for the Card is subject to eligibility requirements and affordability and credit checks. You are not guaranteed to be accepted for a Partnership Credit Card.

7. Double Points means:

a) 2 points for every £1 spent (with any amount spent between 80p - 99p in a pound being rounded up to receive 2 points); and

b) 2 additional points for every £4 spent (totalling 10 points for every £4 spent).

8. This Offer excludes spend on your Partnership Credit Card on Non-Partnership Spend. This means spend at all other retailers and at John Lewis and Waitrose shop concessions, including but not limited to John Lewis Beauty Services, Joe & the Juice, Benugo Cafe, Clarins Spa, KuPP, Vodafone shop, Nespresso Boutiques, Lloyds Pharmacy, Boots Pharmacy, Johns & Kelyneck Pharmacy, Admiral Pharmacy, Hove Pharmacy, Post Office, Johnson Cleaners, Costa Coffee, Arnolds Estate Agents and PhotoMe booths, Leckford Farm Shop, Longstock Park Nursery, Waitrose at Shell Petrol stations and Kuoni holidays booked via non Kuoni stores via another travel agent, transactions made using another payment service that are later debited to your Partnership Credit Card (for example, PayPal and Curve card transactions made at John Lewis or Waitrose).

9. You will not earn Double Points on transactions which have been posted to your credit card account after the end of the 60 day promotional period.


Application of Bonus Points

10. Double Points are calculated and added once the transaction has been cleared on your account. This is usually a few days after you make the transaction.

11. Points and gift vouchers are subject to the Reward Programme Rules. For full details please read the Reward Programme Rules.


August Variation

12. You will be eligible for the Earning Points Rates under the August Variation as set out in the Reward Programme Rules based on the date you open your Partnership Credit Card as set out in Table 1, below.


General terms

13. The Offer is not transferable and cannot be used in conjunction with any other Partnership Credit Card offer, including but not limited to any other promotional Double or bonus points offer.
