A new way to buy Euros and US Dollars at selected Waitrose stores
Select Euros or US dollars and buy them in pre-packed amounts of $250 or €250 directly from our Welcome Desks at a participating Waitrose. To help save you some time, you can buy your pre-packed currency before, after or even during your weekly shop.
Like our Bureaux de Change, we don't charge a commission fee and monitor exchange rates daily. Maximum 2 packs per customer. Card payments only.

Pre-packed currency FAQs
Do you sell other currencies?
At the moment, we’re only selling pre-packed euros and US dollars. If you’d like to buy other currencies, you can order them online and pick them up at a Waitrose or John Lewis near you or have them delivered to your home.

Do I have to order the currency beforehand?
You won’t need to order the pre-packed currency beforehand, however it is subject to availability. If you’d like to know if a Waitrose store still has some in stock, you can call the store directly to check before you make your way over.

Can I sell back the currency?
After your trip, you can sell back the leftover currency by visiting one of our John Lewis Bureau de Change stores. As long as we keep your currency in stock and can accept the denominations you have, we'll exchange your unused notes back into pounds.
When will it become available at my local Waitrose?
We’re still in a trial period, but we’re hoping to roll out to other Waitrose stores across the UK. To be the first to know if your Waitrose is selling pre-packed currency, register to our email mailing list.
Can I buy pre-packed currency at John Lewis?
We have Bureau de Change desks located at 31 John Lewis stores nationwide. US dollars and euros are available to exchange within our branches, as well as a wide range of other currencies.
