the big moment

You're thinking of your special day, so are we

We know your heart and soul go into making sure your wedding is just the way you want it, that’s why we’ve taken extra care to craft comprehensive wedding insurance that puts you and your plans first. With six levels of cover, you can choose the right option for your wedding.

Add that to the comfort of having John Lewis Finance by your side, and you can celebrate with confidence.

What's covered by our Wedding Insurance?

Your policy includes

Covering cancellation for when one of the immediate wedding party or a close relative falls ill, making it inappropriate to continue the ceremony, provided this isn't due to a pre-existing medical condition.

Costs to re-arrange your wedding due to an insured reason (up to similar amount originally budgeted).

Failure of suppliers, from wedding flowers and wedding cake to the wedding transport and ceremonial attire. If any of your suppliers go bust or doesn’t turn up, you could be reimbursed for any deposits you've lost and any additional costs in arranging another equivalent supplier.

Covering re-arrangement if the venue is unavailable due to an insured reason.

Loss or theft of wedding gifts, flowers, cake, rings or outfits.

Failure of wedding photographers including photos unable to be produced due to equipment failure. If your photographer doesn’t turn up, or another type of loss or damage affects your precious memories, we’ll restage your wedding photos.

Accidental damage to wedding outfits before the wedding, making the outfit unwearable.

If a storm prevents you and more than 50% of your guests from getting to your wedding, we could cover you.

Wedding Insurance from John Lewis Finance offers six levels of cover - ranging from £10,000 up to £100,000 - and you can upgrade your cover at any time. Make sure you keep a record of what you’ve spent and that you have a written contract with your suppliers to ensure you have the right level of cover for your wedding.

Top FAQs

Yes, anything already booked or paid for will be covered from the purchase date of the policy. Please make sure you have written contracts with all suppliers.

Unfortunately not: our Wedding Insurance only covers your wedding and wedding reception. We suggest that you take out a separate Travel Insurance policy to be fully covered for your honeymoon.

You have up to 14 days after receiving your policy documents to change your mind and get a full refund, as long as you haven’t already made a claim and your wedding hasn’t taken place.

If you would like to change your policy just give us a call on 0330 102 2747 if you’d like to add Overseas Wedding Cover, Marquee Cover or upgrade your existing level of wedding cover.
