If you pay annually, simply follow the steps in the section below.

If you pay monthly by Direct Debit, we’ll auto-renew your insurance. Just check that you're happy your details are correct and your current levels of cover still meet your needs. If you do need to make any changes, please follow step 3 below.

Renewal FAQs

If you have not made a claim during your current insurance period, your no claims discount will increase in line with our scale at the renewal of your policy.

If you have made a claim during your current insurance period, your no claims discount may reduce at the renewal of the policy, depending upon the nature of any claim you have had to make.

You should renew your home insurance on or before renewal date of your policy to avoid being potentially uninsured in the event of a claim. John Lewis Home Insurance policies will need to be renewed once a year for you to remain insured with us.

We will send out documents around 30 days in advance of your policy expiring, so you are aware that you will need to renew.

If you choose to pay with a credit, debit or Partnership Card, we’ll take a payment from you once a year. You can do this on the telephone or online.

If you choose to pay monthly by Direct Debit, we’ll still send out documents once a year but we’ll take a payment from you every month.


Your home insurance will only auto-renew if you are paying by Direct Debit and your bank details haven’t changed.

If you paid by credit, debit or Partnership Card, you will need to call us on 0330 102 2742 to renew or renew online.
