For avid Waitrose shoppers and regular John Lewis visitors, receiving our vouchers can feel both rewarding and exciting. For those feeling stuck on what to spend their vouchers on, we’ve created a list of ideas and inspiration.

Partnership Credit Card users can earn points as you spend

  • You’ll earn five points for every £4 spent on eligible purchases at John Lewis and Waitrose and one point for every £4 spent elsewhere.
  • For every 500 points you collect, we'll send you a £5 voucher to use at any John Lewis or Waitrose.

Your next Waitrose shop

You could use your vouchers to help towards the cost of your weekly shop. With these vouchers, you could spruce up your regular shop by adding some treats to your trolley or items you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t had the chance.

Has a bottle of malbec caught your eye? Or even a few slices of sirloin steak? Perhaps there’s a recipe you’ve been meaning to try, and now is the perfect time to give it a go. In fact, these vouchers can also be used online for Waitrose home deliveries too, to save you time when you’re having a busy week.

A gift for a special occasion

Even tokens of appreciation could be bought with your vouchers, like a lovely bottle of Champagne or a thoughtful hamper.

Some of our customers like to use their vouchers to buy gifts for their loved ones, whether it’s some new toys for the grandchildren, your mum’s favourite perfume or even a new pair of comfy socks for your father-in-law.

You can also use your vouchers for special occasions, such as treats for Easter, birthdays gifts and anniversary surprises. If you've received your vouchers in October or November and the festive season is approaching, you may want to use them to buy gifts for Christmas.

Home essentials and decor

Have you just recently moved into a new home? Or know of someone who has? You could use your vouchers to buy a little something for your home or as a housewarming gift for a friend.

It could be a new set of silky smooth Egyptian cotton bedsheets and pillowcases or some decorative items to add a personal touch to the space. If you have a child who is moving away for the first time, this could be a good opportunity to buy some basic bits. You could use them to stock up on some key cupboard staples from Waitrose or some cookware like pots, pans and baking tools.

Dinner party delights

There’s nothing quite like hosting a dinner party with friends and family or a summertime BBQ when the warm weather rolls in. In need of some new serving bowls for the occasion? Or perhaps you’ve decided to upgrade your dinner table with some dinner candles and decorative candle holders.

For something a little bit more casual, maybe you’re just in need of some party basics, like cups, napkins or some tempting desserts.

Whatever the occasion or celebration, these little add-ons can make all the difference when it comes to planning a get-together.

Travel essentials and holiday must-haves

Planning a trip abroad, or even a holiday in the UK, is always a great excuse to do some in-person window shopping or browse online. With your vouchers, you could pick up a pair of new swimmers or maybe a couple of beach towels.

For jet-setters and city explorers, this may be a good time to look into a new travel wallet and even a carry-on or weekend bag.

While you may not be able to use your vouchers to purchase holiday money, it’s worth noting that you can still earn points at our Bureau de Change.

A little treat for you

Leaving the best for last, why not just treat yourself? Spoiling yourself with a little something is probably one of our favourite things to hear from our customers when they receive their vouchers.

Makeup lovers who keep visiting that one lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury can finally add it to their basket. Techies may also want to use their vouchers to get some money off from some brand-new noise-cancelling headphones.

Those who have been wanting to spend more time outdoors could use this opportunity to finally buy some camping gear. And for anyone who prefers the indoors, a nice warm, relaxing soak in the tub with some bubbles (from your bath or prosecco) could be the one thing you need to give a moment to yourself.
