Martin Stevens

Veterinarian

Martin joined RSA (our Pet Insurance provider) in 2016, and graduated as a qualified veterinarian from Glasgow University in 1997. Prior to joining RSA he spent almost 19 years as a vet in a variety of small animal practices, from small one-vet branches to large multi-vet hospitals. He has also handled many insurance claims for practices, so he understands the importance of getting things right for our customers and vets.

Outside of work, he lives in Norfolk with his wife, daughter, a bouncy Cocker Spaniel and a naughty ginger and white cat. He is a keen runner and has completed 48 marathons. He has previously represented Hertfordshire at cross-country running and qualified twice for the UK marathon championships.

Martin says:

“Being a vet working within the pet claims department means that I’m part of a close-knit team dedicated to doing what is right for our John Lewis Pet Insurance customers all over the country.”

“Vet bills can be unexpected and arrive at any time, and a good insurance policy is the best way to help with these.”

“Insurance is a good idea for all dogs. You never know when something unexpected can happen, and a good policy can help to reduce your financial burden.”

“Insurance is a good idea for all cats. Whether your feline friend is a stay-at-home lap-cat or an adventurous outdoor tiger, a good insurance policy can help you out with unexpected vet bills.”

“As it gets warmer, we tend to see an increase in fleas and ticks. They can impact your pet’s health, so it’s important to be on top of your pet's preventative treatment. Prevention is better than cure. Speak to your vet about the most appropriate products to keep your pet and house flea-free all year round.”
