Applying has never been simpler

It’s easy to apply for your new Partnership Card with this step-by-step guide.

This application is only open to existing cardholders who have been invited to apply

1. Start your application

Enter your unique reference code and your date of birth.

You can find your unique reference code displayed on the email or letter we’ve sent you about your new Partnership Card.

If you don’t have your unique reference code select ‘I don’t have my code’ as we will need a few more details from you.

2. Verify your identity and confirm your details

1. Please ensure all your personal information is up to date. If you’re happy for us to transfer your information to your new Partnership Card, we’ll text or call you with a six-digit code.

2. Enter the six-digit code

3. Once we’ve transferred your personal details from your existing card to your new card provider, please check that they’re all correct and up to date.

4. NewDay will then carry out eligibility checks

3. Finalise your application

If your application is successful*, all you will need to do is:

1. Tell us whether and how you would like to hear from us and from NewDay about Partnership Card offers and promotions

2. Click ‘submit application’

3. Read documents provided and sign the Credit Agreements provided

4. Click ‘Accept’

Congratulations – your new Partnership Card will arrive shortly.

*It’s possible that you may not be eligible for the new card, even if you have an existing Partnership Card. If this is the case, you will receive an email with next steps.

4. Shop instantly

Do you want to start spending instantly?

There’s no need to wait for your card to arrive in the post. You can start spending securely through Apple Pay or Google Pay instantly.

In some cases we might ask you to complete an identity check through the ‘Penny Drop’ process.

1. Provide your bank account details and we will send you a 1p transaction with a 4 digit code.

2. Log in to your bank’s online banking to get the code and validate in the application.

5. Finish setting up your Partnership Card account

You can transfer some of your account settings from your existing Partnership Card in just a few clicks, or complete these details from scratch.

1. Payment due date

2. Additional cardholder

3. Direct debit

4. Balance transfer

If you’ve got a balance on your previous Partnership Card or elsewhere, you can save money by consolidating these into your new card.

Frequently asked questions

We’re sending you a unique code to help make the application process easier. The unique code has been, or will be, sent to you via an email or letter.

If you apply using the instructions that come with your unique code this will allow us to pre-populate your application with the existing personal details that we have for you from your existing card.

Don’t worry, you’ll get a chance to update any details which are out-of-date.

Please be aware that if the changes include your first name, surname and/or your date of birth, this will affect your ability to spend instantly from the day of application.

If you don’t want your details pre-populated in the application process then you can apply without it but please be aware that we will not then be able to transfer any residual points to your new card and you will not automatically be entered into the prize draw or receive promotional Balance Transfer offers. Win up to £500 John Lewis and Waitrose vouchers in our £10,000 prize draw. Customers will be automatically entered upon application.

If you don't have your unique code to hand, you can still complete the process by clicking on the link 'I do not have my code' during the online application. You’ll be asked to input your name, date of birth and postcode to identify yourself. Once we’ve identified you as an existing customer, you can continue with your application.

If you need to update your contact details associated with your existing Partnership card please contact John Lewis Financial Services on 0345 300 3833.

Alternatively, you can visit your nearest John Lewis shop to complete the application if you have a form of photo ID, such as a full UK Driving licence or valid passport, and your existing Partnership Card.

The simplest and quickest way is to do it online using the unique code from your email or letter.

Please note that we will not be able to complete an application over the telephone.

Alternatively, you can also visit your local John Lewis shop, where a Partner can help you to complete the necessary forms online.
